One month prior to the start of construction for this 5,370 square foot Oral and Facial Surgery facility, an addition was designed into the plans to incorporate a basement and a second floor. It was up to TWC to complete the project on the predetermined schedule - Fourth of July, or delay the start till the following spring. With TWC’s word in place, construction began only to have 29” on snow fall within 24 hours just two weeks into after starting. All of the snow from the project site had to be hauled away due to the restrictions of the site. Even through numerous weather related potential delays, construction continued on schedule and on budget, with completion June 28, 2002.
A highlight of the facility is the lobby, which is flooded with an abundance of natural light, and a reception area that wraps around to the main circulation corridor. Two doctors each have a private office along with two private consultation rooms. Four operating rooms provide enough operatory space for future expansion of another doctor into the practice. Four recovery rooms are adjacent to a covered drive under canopy so that patients do not have to brave the Minnesota elements. The building exterior is completely maintenance free with a combination of brick and rock face block accents.
